Wiltshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) A350 (Part), Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with Butlers Knap to its junction with C309 to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works.

Alternative route northbound (all vehicles): via B3081 – B3092 – A303 – A350 (unaffected length).

Alternative route southbound (HGV’s): via A36 – A303 – B3092 – B3081 – A350 (unaffected length).

Alternative route southbound (light vehicles): via A350 (unaffected length) – B3098.

This Order will come into operation on 19 December 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 for 1 day. For further information please contact Cirect on behalf of Openreach on 01355 204311.

B) C326 (Part), Bowerchalke; from its property known as Church Cottage to its property known as No.10 Quidham Street to enable Wessex Water to carry out new connection and associated works.

Alternative route via C326 (unaffected length) – C65 – C326 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 16 December 2024 and the closure will be required until 18 December 2024. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

C) C10 (Part), Wylye; from its junction with Highclere Cottages to its junction with Dyer Lane to enable Wessex Internet to carry out ducting and associated works.

Alternative route via C10 (unaffected length) – C64 and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 25 November 2024 and the closure will be required 24 hours a day in place for weekdays only until 06 December 2024. For further information please contact 4-Site Fibre Ltd on behalf of Wessex Internet on 07944 625517.

D) C276 (Part), Fovant; from its junction with Sutton Road for approximately 250m in a westerly direction to enable Going Group Ltd to carry out a full connection and associated works.

Alternative route via C276 (unaffected length) – Panters Road – Sutton Hill – C317 – A30 – C64 – C276 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 25 November 2024 and the closure will be required between until 29 November 2024. For further information please contact Going Group Ltd on 07591 438434.

E) C285 (Part), Idmiston; from its junction with High Street to its junction with Winterslow Road to enable Openreach to carry out cabling works.

Alternative route via Winterslow Road – A338 – C285 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 27 November 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 3 days. For further information please contact Openreach.

F) C256 (Part), Chute; from its junction with Forest Lane to its junction with Malthouse Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated maintenance works.

Alternative route via Malthouse Lane – Dummer Lane – Breach Lane Southeast C262 towards War Memorial Square Lower Chute, War Memorial Square Northeast C262 towards Breach Lane – Forest Lane East to Highfield – Forest Lane East to Highfield and vice versa.

This Order will previously come into operation on 28 May 2024 and the closure will be required until 29 November 2024.

G) C326 (Part), Bowerchalke; from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Quidham Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works.

Alternative route via C326 (unaffected length) – C65 and vice versa.

This Order which previously came into operation on 11 July 2024 will now be recommenced on 28 November 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 until 04 December 2024.

Orders A) to E) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to temporarily close to all vehicles, motor propelled vehicles, caravans, horses, horse-drawn vehicles and pedal cycles:

a) Byway 10 (Part), Durrington; from its junction with Fargo Road to its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury/C506.

b) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with Byway 10, Durrington crossing the C506 over to its junction with A303 (T).

c) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake.

d) Byway 1 (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury to its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James.

e) Byway 11 (Part), Berwick St James; from its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake to its junction with Byway 16, Woodford.

f) Byway 16 (Part), Woodford; from its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James to its junction with A360, Druids Lodge.

g) Byway 11 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 2, Wilsford cum Lake.

h) Byway 2 (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 11, Amesbury to its junction with Footpath 3 at Springbottom Farm, Wilsford cum Lake.

i) Footpath 4, Durrington, from its junction with the A345, to its junction with Fargo Road.

j) B3086 (Part), Shrewton and Winterbourne Stoke (northbound only); from Rollestone Crossroads to A360 Airman’s Cross Roundabout.

k) Fargo Road (Part), Durrington; from its junction with the A345 to a point 300m north at Woodhenge.

And to introduce a temporary No Waiting at any time restriction on the following lengths of road:

l) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke; from its junction with A303 Longbarrow Roundabout to its junction with C506 (Airman’s Corner).

m) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke; from its junction with C506 (Airman’s Corner) in a westerly direction towards Shrewton for approximately 1 kilometre.

n) B3086 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke and Shrewton; from its junction with A360/C506 (Airman’s Corner) in a northerly direction to its junction with The Packway (Rollestone Crossroads).

o) Fargo Road (Part), Durrington; from its junction with the A345 to a point 300 north of Woodhenge.

p) C42, Stonehenge Road, Amesbury; from its junction with West Amesbury Road to the A303.

q) A345 (Part), Durrington; from its roundabout junction with A3028 for approximately 500m in a southerly direction.

These Orders are made to ensure public safety during the period of the Winter Solstice at Stonehenge. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs or cones. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to prevent any person from causing or permitting any vehicle that is a public service bus from entering the lengths of roads specified in part (j). Sections (a) – (k) will come into operation on Monday 16 December 2024 and are expected to remain in force until 12pm midday on Monday 23 December 2024.

Sections (l) – (q) will come into operation at 08:00 on Friday 20 December 2024 and are expected to remain in force until 12pm midday on Saturday 21 December 2024.

The Order for sections (a) – (i) will have a maximum duration of 06 months. The Order for sections (j) – (q) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

A) B3086 (Part), Shrewton; from its junction with Nett Road to its junction with The Packway.

B) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke; from its junction with A303 to its junction with Airman’s Corner.

This Order is made to ensure public safety during the period of the Winter Solstice at Stonehenge. The closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs or cones. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to prevent any person from causing or permitting any vehicle that is a public service bus from entering the lengths of roads specified. This Order will come into operation on 21 December 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 01:00 and 08:00 for 1 day.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
