Eye and Dunsden, Oxfordshire - Introduction of 20mph Speed Limits
What is happening?
OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(EYE AND DUNSDEN PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in order to help improve road safety on local roads - is to introduce 20mph speed limits in parts of the Eye & Dunsden parish, replacing some existing 30mph speed limits in the process as follows:
1. B478 Playhatch Road - from a point 90 metres west of its junction with Spring Lane, eastwards to its junction with the Thames Path public footpath leading southwards (located partly within the borough of Wokingham),
2. Foxhill Lane - from its junction with Playhatch Road, westwards for a distance of 120 metres,
3. Playhatch Road - from its junction with the A4155 roundabout, north-westwards to a point 155 metres north of its junction with Foxhill Lane,
4. Spring Lane - from its junction with the B478 Playhatch Road, northwards for a distance of 100 metres.
5. The three unnamed roads south of the B478 Playhatch Road at Sonning Eye.
Existing 30mph speed limits will remain in the Parish on parts of the B478 Playhatch Road, B481 Peppard Road, Church Lane, Dunsden Way, Gravel Road, Playhatch Road, and Spring Lane, with Officers having taken the current road environment into account. Additionally, the 50mph speed limit on the A4155 Henley Road/Span Hill will remain unaffected by these proposals.
The Oxfordshire County Council (B478, Sonning Eye Village And River Bridges) (Restricted Roads) Order 1985, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Restricted Roads) (Eye and Dunsden Parish) Order 1999 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.
Documents giving more details of the proposals are available for public inspection online by visiting: https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk Hard copies may be made available on request.
