What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (C537 Monks Lane, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Monks Lane – from the junction with B2100 Cousley Wood Road to the junction with C82 Newbury Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2100 Cousley Wood Road – C82 Newbury Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A264 Holtye Road/Holtye Common/Colestock Road, Forest Row/Hammerwood/Edenbridge/Holtye/Cowden)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Holtye Road/Holtye Common/Colestock Road – from the junction with B2026 Edenbridge Road to the county border.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2026 Edenbridge Road, High Street – B2110 Newtons Hill, Gallipot Hill, Cat Street, Shepherds Hill, Hartfield Road – A22 London Road, Lewes Road, Beeching Way (WSX), Station Road (WSX), London Road (WSX) – A264 Moat Road (WSX), Cranston Road (WSX), Blackwell Road (WSX) – A264 Holtye Road (WSX) and vice versa.

The Order commences 9 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 9 and 10 December 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
