PUBLIC NOTICE

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14(1)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024
HIGH STREET, WILDEN 24 – 076

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Wilden between Colesden Road and Ravensden Road.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriageway repairs and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 09:00 to 15:30 hours from 3rd December 2024 to 4th December 2024

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via High Street, Shrubbery Lane, Kimbolton Road, New Road, Wilden Road, Chequers Hill, Colesden Road.

The reverse route applies.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 3rd December 2024, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Bedford Borough Council Tel: 01234 718003.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14(1)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024  
KEELEY LANE, WOOTTON 24 – 080

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Keeley Lane, Wootton near Legstraps pub.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate a new water supply and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 5th December 2024 to 11th December 2024

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Keeley Lane, Hall End Road, Wood End Road, Wood End Lane, Wootton Road, Bedford Road.

The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the length of Radwell Road, Milton Ernest junction of New Road This temporary road closure is required to facilitate a new water supply and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 09:00 to 18:00 hours from 4th December 2024 to 6th December 2024

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Radwell Road, Bridge End, Felmersham Road, The High Road, Hunts Lane, Felmersham Bridge, Odell Road, High Street, Carlton Road, Bridgend, Pavenham Road, East End, Bedford Road, Highfield Road, Paula Radcliffe Way, Rushden Road.

The reverse route applies.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL  
(STAGSDEN ROAD, BROMHAM) (PROHIBITION AND
RESTRICTION OF WAITING) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 14th November 2024 Bedford Borough Council made an Experimental Order under Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as follows:

Effect of the Experimental Order:

1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following length of road:-

A Stagsden Road, Bromham
(i) On its northern kerb, extending from a point approx. 6.6 metres
east of the projected centre of Quenby Way for a distance of
66 metres in an easterly direction.

Reason for the Experimental Order: To address inconsiderate parking in Stagsden Road.

The Experimental Order will be in force for up to eighteen months. Bedford Borough Council will monitor the effectiveness of this trial while it is in operation, then make a decision in due course on whether it should continue indefinitely.

Date of Operation: The Experimental Order will come into force on 18th November 2024 or as soon as practicable after this date.

A copy of this Notice, the Experimental Order and a Statement of Reasons for making the Order may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP. These documents can also be viewed on our website at www.bedford.gov.uk/ proposedtro, and will be placed on deposit for the duration of the Order. Comments supporting or objecting to the Experimental Order: The Experimental Order will remain in force for up to 18 months. Before its effects can be continued beyond that, all comments lodged during the first six months that the Experimental Order is in operation will be considered. Any comments should be put in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made, and posted to Highway Consultations, Bedford Borough Council, Room 436, Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP, or sent via email to highway.consultations@bedford.gov.uk, to reach us no later than 18th May 2025.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 14th November 2024 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:

Effect of the Order:

1. To extend an existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction (double yellow lines) on the following length of road:

A West End, Elstow
(i) On its south-eastern kerb, from a point approx. 22 metres
north-east of the boundary between nos. 20 and 216 West
End extending for a distance of approx. 23.5 metres in a
north-easterly direction (to the end of the existing ‘No waiting
at any time’ restriction).

Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 18th November 2024 or as soon as practicable after this date.

High Court Challenge: Any person who desires to question the validity of this Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date of this Notice, make application for that purpose to the High Court.

No. 19 and KEMPSTON RURAL: PUBLIC FOOTPATH No. 38)
 PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2024

The above Order made on 29 October 2024 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert that length of Public Footpath numbered 19 in the Parish of Wootton in the environs of “Mortal Man Farm” commencing approximately 20 metres south of the property known as “Mortal Man Farm” at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SP 9837/4601 then running in a generally north-west, south-west direction then north-west and then running in a north-north-west direction to a point where it meets the parish boundary at OSGR SP 9784/4617 and that length of Public Footpath numbered 38 in the Parish of Kempston Rural in the environs of “Mortal Man Farm” commencing from a point where it has a junction with the unaffected Footpath 37 approximately 40 metres south-west of the residential properties known as “Meadow Cottage Farm” Kempston Rural at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SP 9777/4618 and running in a generally south-east direction for approximately 65 metres to the Parish Boundary at OSGR SP 9784/4617 to a point approximately 77 metres south-west from the residential dwelling known as “Mortal Man Farm” Wootton at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SP 9829/4598 then running in a generally north-north-east direction then in a generally north-west direction and then east-north-east and then in a north-north-west direction to a point where it meets the parish boundary at OSGR SP 9816/4636 and then running in a north-north-west direction for approximately 7 metres until it connects with the unaffected part of Footpath 37 Kempston Rural at SP 9817/4637.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford by appointment from 10am to 4pm on Weekdays (Bank and Public Holidays excepted). If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn Bedford Borough Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
