What is happening?

Junction Road (D3829) Dorking (Dorking Christmas Festival) (Temporary One-Way Traffic) Order 2024
On 20 November 2024, Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), the effect of which will be that all traffic proceeding in that length of Junction Road (D3829), Dorking, as extends from its junction with West Street to the entrance to the Waitrose Car Park, shall do so in a southerly direction. The Order will come into effect on 1 December 2024, for a period of one day and is required to facilitate the holding of an event on the highway, namely the Dorking Christmas Festival.
The Urban District of Dorking (Various Roads) (One-Way Traffic) Order 1970 (as amended) will be suspended in relation to the said length of road. The temporary restriction specified above will not apply to police, fire brigade and ambulance services in an emergency, or to anything done on the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey Police.
The prohibition will only be operative while the relevant traffic signs are displayed, which is anticipated to be between 7am and 7pm. The Council are also satisfied, in accordance with subsection (3) of Section 16A of the Act, that the event to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road. Diversion routes for the event will be signed.

Mill Lane (D2885) Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 On 20 November 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Mill Lane (D2885) Fetcham as extends from its junction with (B2122) Waterway Road and for a distance of 15 metres in a north westerly direction. This Order is required to facilitate bridge inspection works for, or on behalf of Network Rail.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 nights, between the hours of 9pm and 5am, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 06 December 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.
Rectory Lane (B278) Woodmansterne Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 20 November 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Rectory Lane (B278) Woodmansterne. Alternative Route: (B278) Carshalton Road, (A2022) Woodmansterne Lane, (A2022) Little Woodcote Lane, (A237) Smitham Bottom Lane, (A237) Woodcote Grove Road, (B2032) Chipstead Valley Road, and (B2032) Outwood Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to carry out essential tree works for, or on behalf of Broadleaf Tree Surgeons Ltd.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 25 November 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Park Lane (D2628) Ashtead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Park Lane (D2628) Ashtead which extends from its junction with Howard Close (X15273) to the northwestern property boundary line of “Woodcote”.
Alternative Route – Park Lane (D2628), The Street (A24), Grove Road (D2502) and Dene Road (D2337) or the same route in reverse. This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 December 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Court Road (D1085) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Court Road (D1085) Banstead which extends from its junction with Avenue Road (D1085) to its junction with Courtlands Crescent (D1085).
Alternative Route – Court Road (D1085), Bolters Lane (B2219), High Street (B2217) and Avenue Road (D1085) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 2:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 09 December 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Whyteleafe Road (C227) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Whyteleafe Road (C227) Caterham which extends from its junction with Essendene Road (D1401) to its junction with Pine Walk (D1401).
Alternative Route – Whyteleafe Road (C227), High Street (B2030), Town End (B2030) and Burntwood Lane (D1402) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 8:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 December 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Blanks Lane (C61) Newdigate Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No. 2) 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Blanks Lane (C61) Newdigate which extends from the southeastern property boundary line of “Blanks Cottage” to the southwestern property boundary line of “Wellpools Farm” and; (b) Suspend the “Surrey County Council Blanks Lane (C61) Newdigate Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice.
Alternative Route – Stan Hill (C61), Norwood Hill Road (C57), Smalls Hill Road (C57), Bunce Common Road (C58), Shellwood Road (C54), Broad Lane (C59) and Partridge Lane (C60) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 December 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Public Footpath 546 (Horley)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 05 December 2024 Surrey County Council will make the abovementioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 546 (Horley) which extends for about 85 metres in an easterly and then a northerly direction from its junction with High Street (Grid ref: 528623 143124) to its junction with Station Approach (Grid ref: 528674 143165).
The Order is necessary to enable the replacement of the railway bridge deck above the subway. The closure will be in operation for a period of 6 months from 09 December 2024, or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the High Street end of the closure is via pavements and Public Footpath 547 (Horley) (foot bridge).
The alternative route for traffic from Station Approach end of the closure will be the reverse of the above.
“The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 546 (Horley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

On 14 November 2024 Surrey County Council confirmed the above Order. The effect of the order is to temporarily divert the public footpath running from Grid Reference 532090 152677 to Grid Reference 531981 152130 to a line running west from Grid Reference 532090 152677 to Grid Reference 531916 152718 then south west to Grid Reference 531537 152499 then south east to Grid Reference 531981 152130. This order came into force on 14 November 2024 but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within six weeks from the date on which this notice is first published as required by paragraph [7] [8] of Schedule 14 to that Act.
