What is happening?

SLOUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL
THE BOROUGH OF SLOUGH WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING PLACES (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2017
(AMENDMENT NO. 40) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2024 (Order 46 of 2024)
Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Regulation 22 of the Local Authorities 
Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 as amended.
1. SLOUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL gives notice that on 14th November 2024 it made an experimental Order under sections 9 and 
10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and any other enabling powers. The effects of the Order are set out below.
2. To introduce a new “BS1” parking zone for parking in selected areas of the carriageway covering all of Carlisle Road, part 
of Frank Sutton Way, all of Godolphin Road, all of Lake Avenue, all of Redwood Gardens, part of Whitby Road and all of 
Woodland Avenue.
3. The Order will introduce resident and shared use parking places and waiting restrictions operating on all days and at all 
times in these roads, with limited waiting in the shared use parking places operating 8am to 7pm on Mondays to Sundays 
inclusive.
4. Properties eligible for the issue of permits are set out in the Schedule below.

5. The Order shall come into operation on the date on which notice that it has been made is first published for a period of 18 months. The duration of the Order can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
6. A copy of the Order as made, this notice and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected free of charge at the Council’s offices during normal working hours (excluding bank and public holidays). They may also be inspected on the Council’s website at

7. The Council will be considering in due course whether to replace this experimental Order with a permanent one having the same effects. Anyone wishing to object to such a permanent Order may do so within six months of the day on which the experimental Order came into force. Any such objection must be made in writing, stating the grounds on which it is made, and be sent to the address below or emailed to parking.consultations@slough.gov.uk.
8. The Order provides that in pursuance of Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the delegated authority of Slough Borough Council, or some person authorised in that behalf, may if it appears essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Order runs, modify or suspend the Order or any provision thereof.
9. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not 
within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any regulations made under the Act has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
