What is happening?

ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA

DRAYCOTT AVENUE - PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONE

The Kensington and Chelsea (Prescribed Routes) (No. 4) Traffic Order 2024

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea on 19th November 2024 made the above-mentioned Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to provide a pedestrian and cycle zone in part of Draycott Avenue. 

All vehicles other than pedal cycles will be banned from entering the paved area in that part of Draycott Avenue that extends westwards from the building line between No. 161 and Nos. 163 to 165 Draycott Avenue to its junction with Walton Street.

3. A copy of the Order, which will come into force on 26th November 2024 and of all other relevant documents can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of six weeks from the date the Order was made at Traffic Orders, Room 1.02, Council Offices, 37 Pembroke Road, London W8 6PW or may be obtained via email by contacting trafficorders@rbkc.gov.uk, quoting reference: RBKC/TMO/Draycott Avenue Pedestrian and Cycle Zone.

4. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
