M20 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 1)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the M20 Motorway in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.

The effect of the Order is to authorise the full weekend and weekday overnight closure of both carriageways of the M20 between the off and on slips at Junction 1 (M25 Junction 3/A20).

This measure is in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake barrier replacements and all associated works.

It is expected that the weekend closure will take place between 22:00 on Friday 6th December 2024 and 06:00 on 9th December 2024, with contingency for a second weekend starting on Friday 10th January if further works are required. The weekday overnight closures will take place between 22:00 and 5:30 (maximum period). Please consult National Highways website for details of all closures.

The Order will come into force on 4th December 2024 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

Traffic affected by the closures will be directed to leave the carriageway as appropriate and re-join after the junction.

The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
