Cumberland - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL
(U4059 BOOT, U4032 BRISCO ROAD, EGREMONT AND C4018 NEAR NETHER WASDALE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U4059 Boot, Eskdale, from a point adjacent to the property known as 'Brook House Inn', extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 170m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U4059, C4026 Austhwaite Brow, Ulpha and C4028.
Duration: From 9 December 2024 for approx. 2 days (Ref:TTROC/12749)
2. U4032 Brisco Road, Egremont, from its junction with Briscoe Mount (Nos 61-76), extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 410m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Brisco Road, U4032, C4017, A5086 Trumpet Road, Trumpet Terrace, Main Street, Cleator, A5086 and A595 Egremont Bypass and East Road.
Duration: From 16 December 2024 for approx. 2 days (Ref TTROC/12853)
3. C4018 Near Nether Wasdale, from a point adjacent to the property known as 'Low Greendale', extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 820m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C4018 and C4019 Whitecroft.
Duration: From 18 December 2024 for approx. 2 days (Ref TTROC/12897)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 9 December 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
