TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

On 12 June 2024 South Tyneside Council made an Order under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect will be to temporarily close a section of public footpath from grid ref NZ 3356, 6498 at the land situated
north of Jarrow Road/A185, Jarrow and heads in a south easterly direction for approximately 40m across the River Don pedestrian bridge at grid ref NZ 3358, 6494.

The Secretary of State for Transport has approved the continuing in force of the Order until 31 March 2025 or until the works are completed, if this is sooner. The Order is required to ensure public safety whilst contractors undertake sewer repair work.

An alternative route for users in relation to the footpath will be provided along the footway adjacent to Jarrow Road/A185 in a westerly direction and then in a north easterly direction along public footpath Jarrow No. J12 to join the
existing footpath.
