What is happening?

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – (As Amended) Public Footpath Nos. 21 (Part) And 28 Armitage With Handsacre Parish Temporary Closure

Notice is hereby given that the Staffordshire County Council, on 19/11/24 made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along the sections of Public Footpaths :

– Public Footpath No. 21 Armitage with Handsacre Parish from its junction with Public Footpath No. 18 Armitage with Handsacre Parish for approximately 134 metres in a generally south easterly direction to its junction with Public Footpath No. 28 Armitage with Handsacre Parish.

– Public Footpath No. 28 Armitage with Handsacre Parish from its junction with Public Footpath No. 21 Armitage with Handsacre Parish for approximately 232 metres in a generally south westerly direction.

Please be aware that the Public Footpath No. 21 Armitage with Handsacre Parish is closed under a previous temporary closure order, from its junction with Public Footpath No. 28 Armitage with Handsacre Parish in an easterly direction along the southern bank of the Trent and Mersey Canal, for approximately 340 metres to the Railway Bridge at Old Road, meaning that the entire length of Public Footpath No. 21 Armitage with Handsacre Parish is currently closed. 

The closure is required under the provision of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 Section 14 (1) (b) due to a hydrogen kiln firing trial, that is being carried out by Ideal Standard.

No alternative route is available.
A plan will be displayed on site to show the length of path to be closed and the unaffected rights of way in the area.

This Order will come into operation on 25/11/24 and will remain in force for a period of six months or until the risk of danger to the public is over, whichever is the earlier. If necessary, after six months, the Order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic, Temporary Suspension Of One-Way Order & Temporary 24-Hour Main Carriageway Clearway

Notice is hereby given that Staffordshire County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily; prohibit traffic, suspend the one-way order and make a 24-hour main carriageway clearway along : 

Marston Road, Stafford. For more information regarding access arrangements, timings and diversion routes please visit https://one.network/tm=140650185. The Order will come into operation on 10/12/24 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated the works will be completed on the same day. 

The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the overhead fibre cabling works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.


Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic

Notice is hereby given that Staffordshire County Council on 19/11/24 made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit traffic along : 

Common Lane, Stafford. For more information regarding access arrangements, timings and diversion routes please visit https://one.network/ ?tm=140648397. The Order will come into operation on 26/11/24 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated the works will be completed on the same day. 

The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the duct installation works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Meretown Ln, Forton. For more information regarding access arrangements, timings and diversion routes please visit https://one.network/tm=140360886. The Order will come into operation on 25/11/24 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated the works will be completed by 28/11/24. 

The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the Severn Trent Water Long Comm pipe renewal works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that Staffordshire County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit traffic along :

Marston Lane, Marston. For more information regarding access arrangements, timings and diversion routes please visit https://one.network/?tm=140699793. The Order will come into operation on 11/12/24 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated the works will be completed by 12/12/24. 

The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the boundary box installation works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Brazenhill Lane, Haughton. For more information regarding access arrangements, timings and diversion routes please visit https://one.network/?tm=140586984. The Order will come into operation on 10/12/24 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated the works will be completed on the same day.

The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the pole testing works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
