What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT AND INTRODUCTION OF 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (TTO2300) ORDER 2024

Notice is given that the Southend-on-Sea City Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has proposed to make the above Order. The effect of the Order will be as follows:

Marlborough Ltd on behalf of Southend-on-Sea City Council will be carrying out road maintenance work at North Shoebury Road opposite Number 15. The effect of the Order will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of the 30mph speed limit and introduction of the 20mph speed limit at the location.

The Order and prohibitions will come into effect on 26th November 2024 works are expected to be complete

26th November 2024 however, this Order may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier and will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs.

Access for emergency vehicles, vehicles being used in connection with the works, will be maintained during the closure.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
