CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(OLD LINSLADE ROAD, HEATH AND REACH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Old Linslade Road, Heath and Reach 20 metres either side of the railway bridge.

This temporary closure is required to enable vegetation removal, brickwork repairs, handrail and ballast board installation work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 25 November to 6 December 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Bragenham Lane, Partridge Hill, Leighton Road, Stoke Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 25 November 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Woburn Road, Heath and Reach outside number 15.

This temporary closure is required to enable manhole cover and frame repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 21 November 2024 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Heath Road, Church Street, Leston Road, A4102, A5, Woburn Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 21 November 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

COMMONS ACT 2006 – SECTION 15 (2)

NOTICE OF AN APPLICATION FOR THE REGISTRATION OF

LAND AS A TOWN OR VILLAGE GREEN NEAR MARDLE ROAD/

CAMBERTON ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD

To every reputed owner, lessee, tenant or occupier of any part of the land described below, and to all others whom it may concern.

Application has been made to the Registration Authority, Central Bedfordshire Council, by Mr D. Brooks under section 15(2) of the Commons Act 2006 and in accordance with the Commons (Registration of Town or Village Greens) (Interim Arrangements) (England) Regulations 2007 for the inclusion in the Register of Town or Village Greens of the land described in the Schedule below, which it is claimed to have qualified for registration as a Town or Village Green by virtue of the use of the land for the purposes of lawful sports and pastimes “as of right” and without challenge by the landowner for a period of over 20 years.

The application, which includes a plan of the land proposed for registration, may be inspected at the offices of Central Bedfordshire Council at the address below by appointment. Please contact the Asset Intelligence Team Leader via email Commons@centralbedfordshire.gov. uk to make an appointment prior to visiting to ensure that a member of staff is available to assist you. Copies of the application and plan may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Leighton Buzzard Library.

If the Registration Authority is satisfied that the land described in the Schedule below qualifies for registration as a Town or Village Green, it will so register the land.

Any person wishing to object to the registration of the land as a town or village green should send a written and signed statement of the facts on which the objection is based to the Senior Definitive Map Officer, Countryside Access, Central Bedfordshire Council, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ or e-mail Commons@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk by 1 January 2025.

Any representations that are to be taken into account by the Authority in reaching a decision on the application cannot be treated as confidential and will be copied to the applicant for comment and may be disclosed to other interested parties and dealt with in accordance with the Regulations.

Description of the land claimed to have qualified for registration as a Town or Village Green

The land known locally as The Triangle or The Green, Mardle Road, Leighton Buzzard, comprising of approximately 3090 square metres

(0.76 acres) or thereabouts and bounded by surfaced footways. The Ordnance Survey Grid Reference of SP 92565 24529 is the centre of the application land.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO AMEND WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN LEOPOLD ROAD, LINSLADE

Reason for proposal: The proposed Order is considered necessary. The proposal is intended to reduce traffic conflicts and promote active travel and sustainable modes of transport.

Effect of the Order

To replace No Waiting from Monday to Friday between 10am – 11am with No Waiting from Monday to Friday between 8am – 4:30pm on the following lengths of road in Linslade:-

1. Leopold Road, west side, from its junction with Soulbury Road, extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 92 metres, ending at a point approximately in line with the southern property boundary belonging to No. 14 (where the existing School Keep Clear markings end).

2. Leopold Road, south-west side, from a point approximately 5 metres northwest of its junction with Springfield Road and extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 50 metres (up to where the existing School Keep Clear markings begin).

To introduce No Stopping on School Entrance Markings from Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 4.30pm on the following length of road in Linslade:-

1.  Leopold Road, east side, from a point approximately 50 metres northwest of the junction with Springfield Road and extending in a

north-westerly direction and then following the curvature of the kerb northeast for a total distance of approximately 28 metres.

INTRODUCE A ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ORDER WITH CONTRAFLOW CYCLING IN LEOPOLD ROAD, LINSLADE

Reason for proposal: The proposed Order is considered necessary. The proposal is intended to reduce traffic conflicts and promote active travel and sustainable modes of transport.

Effect of the Order

To introduce Contraflow Cycling on the following length of road in Linslade:-

1.  Leopold Road, from its junction with Soulbury Road to its junction with Springfield Road – motor vehicles permitted to travel in that direction only.

Cyclists can enter at either end.
