What is happening?

BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL
(CITY WIDE) (SPEED LIMIT) (VARIATION AND REVOCATION) ORDER 202*

NOTICE is hereby given that the above named Council propose to make this Order under Sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended) the effect of which will be as follows:

To introduce or formalise 30mph Speed Limits on lengths of the following roads – 

A34 Walsall Road, A34 Perry Barr Expressway, A34 Birchfield Road, A34 High Street, A4041 Queslett Road, A452 Chester Road North, A5127 Lichfield Road, Thimble End Road, Webster Way, Ox Leys Road, A38/B4148 Tyburn Road, B4148 Eachelhurst Road, A38/A4097 Kingsbury Road, A452 Chester Road, Spitfire Island (Tangmere Drive), B4147 Newport Road, A47 Heartlands Parkway/Fort Parkway, A47 Nechells Parkway, A4540 Ring Road (Newtown Middleway, Dartmouth Circus, Dartmouth Middleway, Highgate Middleway, Belgrave Middleway, Lee Bank Middleway, Islington Row and Ladywood Middleway), Aston Road, Aston Bridge, A45 Small Heath Highway, Poets Corner, Heybarnes Circus, A45 Coventry Road, A45 New Coventry Road, Monmouth Drive, Weeford Road, A441 Redditch Road, A38 Bristol Road South, B4123 Wolverhampton Road South, B4121 West Boulevard, B4121 Barnes Hill, B4121 Shenley Lane, A456 Hagley Road West, A41 Hockley Flyover (Soho Hill & Hockley Hill), Redhill Road, Walmley Ash Lane, Cottage Lane, College Road & Lindridge Road.

To consolidate the 40mph speed limit on lengths of Quinton Expressway and the 50mph Speed Limit on lengths of Sutton Coldfield Bypass.

Any person wishing to object to the speed limits being introduced within this proposed Order should write to the Assistant Director – Transport & Connectivity at Place, Prosperity & Sustainability Directorate, Birmingham City Council, PO Box 14439, Birmingham B2 2JE stating the grounds for objection by the 10th December 2024.
