River Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(STANAH ROAD & RIVER ROAD, THORNTON CLEVELEYS, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the Borough of Wyre:
i. Stanah Road from the property 'Birch Cliffe' to the property 'Stanah House Farm.'
ii. River Road from its junction with Stanah Road for approximately 45 metres in a north-westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours to 1530 hours on Tuesday 3rd December 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:
Stanah Road: Underbank Road – Raikes Road
River Road: Not applicable – no through route
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow desilting works to be carried out by BT Openreach.
