St Petersgate, Stockport - Prohibition Of Driving To Allow Works
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (ST PETERSGATE, STOCKPORT) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffc (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to introduce a Temporary Prohibition Of Driving at St Petersgate, Stockport from the junction of St Peters Square to the junction of Duke Street whilst traffc signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow works to replace fve lighting columns to take place. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the work will be one day. An alternative route can be found via St. Peters Square, Piccadilly and Duke Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained. This Order came into operation on the 15th of November 2024 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
