Various Roads, Carlton And Gedling - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, CARLTON AND GEDLING)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (G24-153)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Carlton and Gedling in the Borough of Gedling.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Carnarvon Grove, Carlton - From its junction with Cavendish Road, to its junction with Radcliffe Gardens.
b. Bescar Avenue, Gedling - From its junction with Arnold Lane, to its junction with Westdale Lane East.
c. Forester Road, Carlton - From its junction with Porchester Road, to its junction with Standhill Road.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both Sides) (At Any Time) in the following length of road.
a. Carnarvon Grove, Carlton - From its junction with Cavendish Road, to its junction with Radcliffe Gardens.
b. Bescar Avenue, Gedling - From its junction with Arnold Lane, to its junction with Westdale Lane East.
c. Forester Road, Carlton - From its junction with Porchester Road, to its junction with Standhill Road.
3. The existing one-way restriction will be temporarily revoked, such that traffic may flow in any direction in the following length of road;
a. Carnarvon Grove, Carlton - From its junction with Cavendish Road, to its junction with Radcliffe Gardens.
4. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
5. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 08:00 Hours, Monday 18th November 2024
Until 17:00 Hours, Friday 20th December 2024
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Cavendish Road - Deep Furrow Avenue - Fox Hill Road East and Vice Versa
b. Arnold Lane - Main Road, Gedling - Main Road, Carlton - West Dale Lane East and Vice Versa
c. Standhill Road - Norman Road - Porchester Road and Vice Versa
The Order will come into force on Monday 18th November 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable National Grid to carry out new Cable Installation works and any other associated works;
