What is happening?
(Frating Road/Station Road, Thorrington)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Frating Road/Station Road, Thorrington in the District of Tendring, from the junction with Great Bentley Road to the junction with Church Road a distance of approximately 35m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th December 2024 for 1 night (01:00–07:00) or where stated on a valid permit (KL735C0C-59-41-081224 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while level crossing inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.An alternative route is available via Frating Road, Station Road, School Lane, Great Bentley Road, Colchester Road, Colchester Road Roundabout, Colchester Road, Colchester Road Roundabout, Little Clacton Weeley Bypass, Bovills Roundabout, Little Clacton Bypass, St Johns Roundabout, St Johns Road, Clacton Road, Bypass Road, Colchester Road, Flag Hill, Holly Bush Hill, Clacton Road, Station Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Garlands Road, Birch/Layer Breton in the City of Colchester, from the junction with Birch Park Road to the junction with Layer Breton Heath a distance of approximately 2195m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th December 2024 for 1 night (19:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP2012EH2356254A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.An alternative route is available via Layer Breton Heath, Birch Street, School Hill, Orpens Hill, Maldon Road, Maldon Road South, Shrub End Road Roundabout, Shrub End Road, Cunobelin Way, Cunobelin Way Roundabout, Cunobelin Way, Gosbecks Road Roundabout, Gosbecks Road, Layer Road, High Road, Birch Road, Birch Park and vice versa.

To temporarily close that length of Turner Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Mill Road for a distance of approximately 415m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th December 2024 for 1 night (20:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2376797 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.An alternative route is available via Mill Road, Northern Approach Road, Turner Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Colchester, as detailed in the Schedule.The works are scheduled to commence after 21st November 2024, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent Gas.
The Order will come into effect on 21st November 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Order (No.30) 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 21st November 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
