What is happening?

BURY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (ROCH VALLEY GREENWAY, PUBLIC FOOTPATHS 64,65,179, 180 BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State has approved that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury may continue in force until 17/05/25 the above Order which was made on 20/11/23 under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which is as follows:-

To prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along Roch Valley Greenway, Public Footpaths 64, 65, 179, 180 Bury - between Valley Mill Lane and Pimhole Road The reason for the proposed extension to the order is to facilitate United Utilities aesthetic screens project

The alternative route will be via Redmere Drive, Gigg Lane, Alfred Street, Hurst Street, Pimhole Road & School Street & vice-versa Dated 14/11/24 Council Solicitor

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (GIGG LANE, BURY) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council propose to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) as follows:-

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time at Gigg Lane, Bury. Proposed Introduction of Prohibition of Waiting at any time (operational on all days at all times) Gigg Lane Bury - Southerly side from a point of 5m east of the projected easterly kerbline of Brierley Street to a point of 15m east of the easterly kerbline of Manchester Road.

A copy of the draft Order (including the exemptions contained within it) with plans showing the roads and areas affected, and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order, can be requested via the email Traffic@bury.gov.uk or the postal address below quoting reference TM2-24-553.

Any objections to the proposed order along with the grounds for objecting should be sent in writing to TROobjections@bury.gov.uk or the postal address below quoting reference TM2-24-553 by 06th December 2024.

All representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.
