What is happening?
PUBLIC NOTICE
DEPARTMENT FOR TRANSPORT TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled "The Stopping up of Highways (North East) (No. 27) Order 2024" authorising the stopping of a length of unnamed highway as leads off St Hilda Street at South Shields, in the Metropolitan Borough of South Tyneside. This is to enable development as permitted by South Tyneside Council, under reference ST/0856/23/LAA.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/NE/S247/5851. They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at South Tyneside Council, Town Hall & Civic Offices, Customer Service Centre, Westoe Road, South Shields, NE33 2RL.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 15 November 2024.
