The County of Cornwall (Infra24-166) (Penzance) (Market Jew Street) (Restrictions on Driving) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Cornwall Council proposes to make the above Orders to regulate traffic in Penzance. The effect is to introduce and amend restrictions on waiting and driving along the lengths of road described below. Existing No loading and No waiting restrictions will be realigned to accommodate the revised loading and parking bays described below. In addition, existing restrictions on the affected roads will be consolidated within the above Orders.
It is also proposed to introduce road humps, a raised table junction and measures to narrow the carriageway under the provisions of Sections 90A-I of the Highways Act 1980. The effect will be to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety along the lengths of road described below.
It is further proposed to remove existing Zebra and Puffin crossings under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 in the locations specified below.

Removal of Puffin crossing Albert Street both crossings at junction with Market Jew Street.
Flat top road hump
4 No. flat top road humps on Market Jew Street (narrowed sections: (1) outside Specsavers, (2) south-west of Boots Pharmacy, (3) at junction with New Town Lane, and (4) at access to Wharfside) laid along carriageway, having a rise of 75mm and extending full width of carriageway. The stated horizontal and vertical dimensions are subject to permitted pavement construction tolerances.
Raised table junction (realignment and removal of central island
1 raised table to be laid at junction of Market Jew Street and Albert Street, having a rise of 75mm and extending full width of carriageway. The stated horizontal and vertical dimensions are subject to permitted pavement construction tolerances.
Narrowing of carriageway
