What is happening?

Manchester City Council 

Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14 (As Amended)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC140922710: The City of Manchester (Newick Walk, Charlestown Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrian Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrian traffic on Rear of 8-12 Newick Walk. The alternative routes for pedestrian traffic will be: Lepton Walk, Stocksfield Drive, Elmton Road, White Moss Road, Newick Walk.

The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Gas Main Diversion. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 18th November 2024 to 6th December 2024. 

The order shall come into operation on 18th November 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of six months.


If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. ORDER NO. MCC140772119: 

The City of Manchester (Ackers Street, Hulme Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Ackers Street From Oxford Road to Portsmouth Street. 

The alternative routes for traffic will be: Portsmouth Street, Dover Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane lift. 

It is expected that the works will be in progress from 20th November 2024 to 21st November 2024. The order shall come into operation on 20th November 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
