Tandridge - Amendments to Waiting and Loading Restrictions And On-Street Parking Places

Amendments to Waiting and Loading Restrictions And On-Street Parking Places in the District of Tandridge

On 19 November 2024 Surrey County Council proposed to make “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Amendment of Waiting Loading and Unloading Prohibition and On-Street Parking Places Orders) (Amendment No.1) Order 202-” pursuant to Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 53 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the purpose and effect of which will be to make certain amendments to the waiting and parking restrictions in the District of Tandridge. 

The Council now proposes to make further amendments to the Orders quoted in the said Notice and to amend the following additional Orders: – 

(1) The Surrey County Council (Various Lay-Bys in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Free On-Street Parking Places) Order 2024; and 

(2) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Prohibition of Stopping Outside Schools) Order 2024. So as to: -

(a) prohibit waiting by vehicles in certain lengths of the roads specified in the First Schedule to this Notice, on the days and at the times indicated in the said Schedule. Exemptions for loading on and unloading from vehicles, boarding, and alighting from vehicles, using vehicles for works on or adjoining the lengths of roads referred to in the First Schedule, the maintenance of those roads and the services in them and for disabled persons’ vehicles in accordance with the Blue Badge Scheme, will apply to the afore mentioned restrictions;

(b) remove the existing Ambulance Only markings in the layby on the western side of Pollards Oak Road, Oxted to be replaced with Double Yellow Lines

(c) replace the current time limited parking restriction of “Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm 1 hour with no return within 4 hours” with the time limited parking restriction of “Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm 1 hour with no return within 1 hour” for the time limited parking bays located on Pollards Oak Road, Oxted

(d) provide such time-limited free on-street parking places in certain lengths of Holland Road, Hurst Green with the restriction of Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 6.30pm 30 minutes with no return within 1 hour

(e) swap the locations of the existing free on-street parking bay and the two disabled persons’ parking spaces outside No. 8 Station Road East, subject to the same restrictions that are currently in place at this location

(f) provide a disabled persons’ parking place in The Crescent, Woldingham to be operational at all times with the restriction of 3 hours no return within 1 hour

(g) replace the existing stopping outside schools’ restriction of “No stopping Monday to Friday 8.15am-9.15am and 2.30pm-4pm” with “No stopping Monday to Friday 8am-9am and 3pm-6pm” in certain lengths of Wolf’s Hill, Oxted

(h) formalise the stopping of vehicles outside schools, as indicated by zig-zag markings on site, in a certain length of Rook Lane, Caterham, applying Monday to Friday (inclusive) between 8.15am and 9.15am and between 2.30pm and 4pm

(i) revoke without replacement restrictions on waiting, loading and unloading in certain lengths of the roads specified in the Second Schedule to this Notice at the times indicated in the said Schedule Make certain drafting amendments to the following existing Orders which impose waiting, loading, and unloading and parking prohibitions and restrictions in the Borough of Tandridge, which will not affect the operation of those prohibitions and restrictions : –

(1) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Electric Vehicle Parking Places) Order 2024. 

(2) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Prohibition of Waiting of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Order 2024. 

(3) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Residents’ On-Street Parking Places) Order 2024.

Where a restriction is proposed herein any existing restriction on the same length of road will be revoked, unless otherwise indicated.

Copies of the proposed Order, together with plans showing the lengths of roads to which the Orders relate and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing the Orders may be inspected, free of charge, at 

(1) Caterham Hill Library, Westway, Caterham, Surrey, CR3 5TP.

(2) Caterham Valley library, Stafford Road, Caterham, Surrey, CR3 6JG. 

(3) Lingfield Library, The Guest House, Vicarage Road, Lingfield, Surrey, RH7 6HA. 

(4) Oxted Library, Gresham Road, Oxted, Surrey, RH8 0BQ. 

(5) Warlingham Library, Shelton Avenue, Warlingham, Surrey, CR6 9NF, during normal opening hours. 

(6) Tandridge District Council, 8 Station Road East, Oxted, Surrey, RH8 0BT, during normal office hours; and 

(7) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by appointment only. 

Copies of the previous Orders may be viewed at the Surrey County Council office specified above. In addition, plans detailing these restrictions may be viewed on-line at www.surreycc.gov.uk/ tandridgeparking (follow links to Tandridge Parking Review 2024).

Any reference to a road in the Schedules is a reference to part of the road only.
