What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U7267 Victoria Road, Polegate)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Victoria Road – from the junction with U7267 Albert Road to the junction with U7267 Victoria Close.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7267 Victoria Road – B2247 Hailsham Road – C40 High Street – U7267 Victoria Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 18 and 22 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2160 Halton Road,
Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2024
To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Halton Road –
from the junction with B2106 Royal Parade to the junction with U2160 Rylstone Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2160 Rylstone Road, Redoubt Road – B2106 Royal Parade and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 18 and 29 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C558 Royal Parade, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Royal Parade – from the junction with U2161 Royal Parade to the junction with U2162 Beach Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C558 Royal Parade – U2160 Beamsley Road – A259 Seaside, Seaside roundabout – U2181 Lottbridge Drove – U2190 Sovereign roundabout – U2180 Royal Parade – C558 Royal Parade and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 December 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
