Notice of Publication of Draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 Section 61 (2)
Surrey County Council would like to hear your views on its draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan 2024-25.
The Countryside and Rights of Way (CROW) Act 2000 gave local authorities a statutory duty to prepare a Rights of Way Improvement Plan for their area. Surrey County Council prepared its first such plan in 2007 and reviewed it in 2014. A new version is currently being prepared.
It can be viewed in person at the following locations: Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ; Woodhatch Place, 11 Cockshot Hill, Reigate, RH2 8EF; the administrative hubs of Epsom and Ewell, Elmbridge, Guildford, Reigate and Banstead, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, Waverley and Woking Borough Councils, and Mole Valley and Tandridge District Councils.
We would welcome your comments via our online survey available at the below links from 14 November 2024 until 9 February 2025. Please tell us if you agree with our objectives.
Rights of way improvement plans are intended to be the main way in which local highway authorities identify the changes that need to be made to the rights of way network to make it more useful to the public, both now and in the future.
A series of public consultations since December 2023, generating several thousand responses, have formed the basis of this draft plan.
The public is invited to inspect this document in draft form at the website or QR below: https://www.surreysays.co.uk/environmentand-infrastructure/rowip-24/
