(PUBLIC FOOTPATH KN8 (PART) – HARDINGSTONE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council intend,
not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the
effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that
length of Public Footpath KN8 (Part) in Hardingstone as specified below.
Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said length of footpath
are unaffected.
RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: That length of public
footpath KN8 be closed commences at point A on the map at National Grid
Reference ‘NGR’ SP7736 5932. The route proceeds generally south for
40 metres crossing the river to terminate at point B at NGR SP7736 5928.
The route to be closed is shown on the map by a solid black line between
points A-B.
REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of
health and safety to allow repairs to bridge parapet.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 29th November
2024 and will continue in force for a period of six months with the actual
planned dates of closure to be 29th November 2024, 6th December 2024
and 13th December 2024. An application may be made for the approval of
the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this
proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only
at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The alternative route commences at point C at
NGR SP7748 5953, the route proceeds generally north-east and then
south-east on the footway of the Old Bedford Road for 570 metres to
point D at NGR SP7793 5936. The route the proceeds generally south-west
for 760 metres, along the cycle track, crossing Liliput Road and proceeding
along the footway of BurryPort Road to point E at NGR SP7769 5872.
The route then proceeds north-west along the footway of Salthouse Road
for 337 metres to point F at NGR SP7738 5886. The route then proceeds
north-east and then north-west for 308 metres along the footway of
Rhosili Road and footpath KN13 to terminate at the junction with
footpath KN8 at point G at NGR SP7736 5909.
The alternative route is shown by a broken black line between points
C-D-E-F-G.
