London Borough of Southwark - Dulwich Village and various roads - temporary prohibition of traffic

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)
(DULWICH VILLAGE, CALTON AVENUE, TURNEY ROAD, COURT LANE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable highways and resurfacing works by Conways, it has made an order, the effect of which is to prohibit vehicular traffic from entering part of the above named roads.

2. Whilst the works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs/road markings are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to enter, proceed, stop, wait, load or unload at any time on: (a) Calton Avenue, from Woodwarde Road to Dulwich Village/Court Lane (b) Dulwich Village, between Gilkes Place and Boxall Road (c) Turney Road, from Dulwich Village to Boxall Road (d) Court Lane, from Calton Avenue to Dekker Road.

3. The alternative routes for affected traffic will be:  1) East Dulwich Grove, Lordship Lane, Dulwich Common, College Road.  2) College Road, Dulwich Common, Lordship Lane, East Dulwich Grove.  3) Red Post Hill, Denmark Hill, Champion Park, Grove lane, Lordship Lane, Dulwich Common, College Road.

4. Exemptions will be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said works. 

5. The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
 
6. The prohibitions will be in place on the following dates: (a,b,c & d) From 20:00 to 05:00 each night starting on the 27th of November until 05:00 on the 30th of November. 7. Further information may be obtained by contacting Road Network Management at ttmo@southwark.gov.uk
