What is happening?

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL
UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING

(HOLT LANE, BRIGHTWALTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Holt Lane in Brightwalton between its junction with Pudding Lane and its junction with The Green. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Honesty Bottom, Sparrowbill, B4494 Wantage Road, Holt Lane and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Openreach to safely access their overhead structure to repair damage to cable. The proposed Order will come into effect on 27th November 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 09:30 and 15:30 on 27th November 2024.

(B4494 WANTAGE ROAD, WINTERBOURNE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over B4494 Wantage Road in Winterbourne between its junction with Hill Green and its junction with School Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via
B4494 Wantage Road, B4494 Chain Hill, A338 Ormond Road, A338 Newbury Street, A338 Manor Road, A338 Wantage Road, A338 Hungerford Hill, B4000 Ermin Street, B4000 Baydon Road, B4000 Unnamed Road from A4 to Stockcross, A4 Bath Road, B4494 Oxford Road, B4494 Wantage Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for EJM Tree Services Ltd to carry out tree works on dangerous trees overhanging the carriageway. The proposed Order will come into effect on 18th November 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 08:00 and 17:00 hours each day from 18th to 22nd November 2024.

(UNNAMED ROAD FROM UFTON LANE TO CAMP ROAD, UFTON NERVET)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Unnamed Road from Ufton Lane to Camp Road in Ufton Nervet between its junction with Ufton Lane and its junction with Green Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Green Lane, Camp Road, Church Lane and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to install pressure monitoring point and double atplas box. The proposed Order will come into effect on 18th November 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 18th and 20th November 2024.

Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
