Various Roads in Mole Valley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.5) 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice. 

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing, pre-patching/patching works and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 29 November 2024. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. 

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.

1. that length of A246 Guildford Road, Fetcham and A246 Leatherhead Road, Bookham which extends from a point 60m west of its roundabout junction with Young Street to its junction with Rectory Lane. Alternative Route – A246 Young Street, A24 Dorking Road, A24 Mickleham By-Pass, A24 London Road, A24 Deepdene Avenue, A25 Reigate Road, A25 High Street, (A25 South Street – clockwise only), (A25 Vincent Lane – clockwise only), A25 Westcott Road, A25 Coast Hill, A25 Guildford Road, A25 Dorking Road, A25 Station Road, A25 Shere Road, A246 Epsom Road and A246 Guildford Road or vice versa;

2. (a) the entire length of B2033 Tot Hill, Headley and (b) that length of B2033 Leech Lane, Headley which extends from its junction with Tot Hill to its junction with Lodgebottom Road. Alternative Route – B2033 Leech Lane, B20233 Mill Way, B2033 Reigate Road, A24 By-Pass Road, A24 Dorking Road, A24 London Road, A24 Mickleham By-Pass, A24 London Road, A24 Deepdene Avenue, A24 Reigate Road, B2032 Station Road, B2032 Pebble Hill Road and B2033 Headley Common Road;

3. that length of B2126 Forest Green Road/Ockley Road/Etherley Hill, Ockley which extends from its junction with Holmbury Lane to its junction with A29 Stane Street. Alternative Route – A29 Stane Street, C50 Okewood Hill, C50 Honeywood Lane, C48 Smokejack Hill Road, C49 Walliswood Green Road, C49 Horsham Road and B2127 Ockley Road;

4. that length of C57 Station Road, Betchworth which extends from its roundabout junction with A25 Reigate Road to its junction with Old Reigate Road. Alternative Route – C57 Old Reigate Road, C57 The Street, C57 Snowerhill Road, C57 Tapners Road, C58 Bunce Common Road, C54 Leigh Road, C54 Middle Street, C54 Brockham Lane and A25 Reigate Road;

5. that length of C58 Bunce Common Road, Leigh which extends from its junction with Leigh Road to its junction with Tapners Road. Alternative Route – C54 Leigh Road, C54 Middle Street, C54 Brockham Lane, A25 Reigate Road, C57 Station Road, C57 The Street, C57 Snowerhill Road and C57 Tapners Road;

6. the entire length of D300 Mill Road, South Holmwood. Alternative Route – D301 Blackbrook Road, D2850 Inholms Lane, C251 Spook Hill and A24 Horsham Road;

7. the entire length of D308 Wellhouse Lane, Brockham/Strood Green. Alternative Route – C54 Middles Street, D306 Gadbrook Road and C57 Snowerhill Road;

8. the entire length of D309 Old Reigate Road, Betchworth. Alternative Route – C57 Station Road and A25 Reigate Road;

9. the entire length of D309 Old Road, Betchworth/Buckland. Alternative Route – C57 Old Reigate Road, C57 Station Road and A25 Reigate Road;

10. the entire length of D310 Sandy Lane, Buckland. Alternative Route – D309 Old Road, C57 The Street and D310 Wonham Lane;

11. the entire length of D320 Clayhill Road, Leigh between its junction with Newdigate Road and its junction with Smalls Hill Road. Alternative Route – C57 Tapners Road, C58 Bunce Common Road and C59 Newdigate Road;

12. that length of D331 Dean Oak Lane, Leigh which extends from its junction with Ironsbottom to its junction with Smalls Hill Road. Alternative Route – C57 Smalls Hill Road, D330 Collenden Lane, D332 Horse Hill and D332 Ironsbottom.
