Public Path Diversion Order 2024
Footpath 34 Stock
The above order, made on 1 November 2024 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert a part length of Footpath 34 Stock of unknown width shown by a bold continuous line on the order map commencing from a point located where the footpath meets Ingatestone Road running in a south westerly direction between fishing ponds for a total distance of 301 metres to a point north of Stock Brook where it continues unaffected, to an alternative route 2 meters in width commencing at the aforementioned start point running in an east south easterly then generally southerly direction around the edge of a field for a distance of 324 metres to a point located in the south east corner of a field then continuing in a generally westerly direction around the field edge for a final distance of 280 metres to the aforementioned end point where it continues unaffected.
Copies of the order and order map can be requested to be posted or viewed by emailing publicpathorders@essexhighways.org to arrange a suitable time to inspect the documents quoting the Order title. Documents can be made available for inspection 8.30am-4.30pm Mon-Fri at Essex County Council, County Hall, E block main reception, Market Road, Chelmsford if so required following the current social distancing restrictions. Copies of the order and order map are available on Essex Highways website at: https://www.essexhighways.org/public-path-notices and have also been sent to Chelmsford City Council and Stock Parish Council.
Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Public Path Orders, Definitive Map Service, Essex County Council, Seax House, 2nd Floor, Victoria Road South, Chelmsford CM1 1QH not later than 12 December 2024 Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Essex County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent together with the Order. Any such representation or objections will be taken into account by the Council with the result that they may be made available to the public under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985.
(Bishops Stortford Road, Roxwell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bishops Stortford Road, Roxwell in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 340m north west of its junction with Vicarage Road for a distance of approximately 140m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th December 2024 for 1 night (20:00 – 04:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP10000014104 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while centre island post replacement works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Cheviot Drive, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cheviot Drive, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Pennine Road for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th December 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2373776 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway & cycleway defect works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Pennine Road, Wicklow Avenue, Cheviot Drive and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Street, Great Baddow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Street, Great Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Seabrook Road for a distance of approximately 315m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th December 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2373923 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
Alternative routes are available via
Northbound via Church Street; Molrams Lane; Southend Road, Southend Road, Howe Green Interchange, Southend Road, Essex Yeomanry Way, Army & Navy Roundabout, Baddow Road, Baddow Road, Tabors Hill, High Street and Church Street or Southbound via Church Street, High Street, Tabors Hill, Baddow Road, Baddow Road, Army & Navy Roundabout, Essex Yeomanry Way and Molrams Lane.
The Order will come into effect on 21st November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, Borough of Brentwood & City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.12) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the Borough of Brentwood & City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Brentwood Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads specified in the schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Westfield Avenue, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Broomfield Road for a distance of approximately 25m in a westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th December 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30021803346 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while supply upgrade works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

(Brock Hill, South Hanningfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brock Hill, South Hanningfield in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 210m south east of its junction with Sudbury Road for a distance of approximately 90m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th November 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7031001364637 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Sudbury Road, Castledon Road, London Road, London Road Roundabout, Golden Jubilee Way, Runwell Road Roundabout, Runwell Road, Swan Lane and vice versa (with access only into Brock Hill).
The Order came into effect on 7th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(New Barn Lane, Great Hallingbury/Little Hallingbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of New Barn Lane, Great Hallingbury/Little Hallingbury in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction of Lower Road for a distance of approximately 600m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th November 2024 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA140140GCECCTNA01313AT – Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while defect repair works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
An alternative route is available via Howe Green Road, Church Road, Latchmore Bank, Lower Road and vice versa (with access only into New Barn Lane).
