(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON
VARIOUS ROADS IN BISHOPS STORTFORD DURING THE
‘BISHOPS STORTFORD CHRISTMAS FAYRE’) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:- To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads, except for access:-
a) that length of B1529 North Street, Bishops Stortford from its junction with B1004 High Street north westwards to its junction with A1250 Hadham Road, a distance of approximately 190m. An alternative route will be via B1004 (High Street/Windhill/Great Hadham Road), A1184 Bishops Park Way and A1250 Hadham Road
b) that length of B1004 High Street, Bishops Stortford from its junction with B1529 North Street south westwards to its junction with Basbow Lane, a distance of approximately 65m. An alternative route will be via B1004 (High Street/Windhill/Great Hadham Road), A1184 Bishops Park Way and A1250 Hadham Road
c) that length of B1529 (South Street/Potter Street/Market Street), Bishops Stortford from its junction with A1059 Station Road north westwards to its junction with Bridge Street, a distance of approximately 392m. An alternative route will be via A1059 Station Road, Riverside, Adderley Road and A1250 (The Causeway/Link Road/Hadham Road)
d) that length of Apton Road, Bishops Stortford from its junction with B1529 Potter Street south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with the Scott Road/Jervis Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 595m. There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.
e) that length of Palmers Lane, Bishops Stortford from its junction with Bridge Street south eastwards for its entire length. There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event. To prohibit all vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes (mgw) from using the following lengths of roads:-
a) that length of Apton Road, Bishops Stortford from its junction with B1529 Potter Street south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with the Scott Road/Jervis Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 595m.
b) that length of Church Street, Bishops Storford from its junction with B1529 Potter Street south westwards and north westwards to its junction with B1004 High Street, a distance of approximately 224m.
c) that length of Newtown Road, Bishops Stortford from its junction with B1529 South Street south westwards to its junction with Apton Road, a distance of approximately 595m.
d) that length of Water Lane, Bishops Stortford from its junction with B1529 North Street north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Bridge Street, a distance of approximately 230m.
e) that length of Barrett Lane, Bishops Stortford from its junction with Water Lane south westwards to its junction with B1529 North Street, a distance of approximately 73 metres.
3. To prohibit all vehicles from making a left turn manoeuvre from Newtown Road into B1529 South Street, Bishops Stortford for the duration of the event.
4. The existing one way traffic systems on the following lengths of roads will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the event:-
a) that length of Church Street, Bishops Storford from its junction with B1529 Potter Street south westwards and north westwards to its junction with B1004 High Street, a distance of approximately 224m.
b) that length of Water Lane, Bishops Stortford from its junction with B1529 North Street north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Bridge Street, a distance of approximately 230m.
c) that length of Barrett Lane, Bishops Stortford from its junction with Water Lane south westwards to its junction with B1529 North Street, a distance of approximately 73m.
6. The existing prescribed routes Order on Newtown Road, Bishops Stortford will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles proceeding eastwards along this road to turn right into B1529 South Street and proceed straight into A1059 Station Road for the duration of the event The temporary traffic management measures will be in place between the hours of 6.00am and 7.00pm on Saturday 7 December 2024, when signs are in place. The purpose of the Order is to ensure public safety and prevent accidents for the duration of the ‘Bishops Stortford Christmas Fayre’. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF DANEBRIDGE ROAD, MUCH HADHAM)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Danebridge Road, Much Hadham from its junction with Malting Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via Malting Lane, B1004 (Tower Hill/High Street/Winding Hill/Great Hadham Road) and Danebridge Road. The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility pole is proposed to be executed near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
