(TEMPORARY BYWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC CLOSURE)
ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibits the use by all users on that section of the U6040 Corridge Junction to Middleton Junction from its junction with the C158 heading in a southerly direction for a length of 2340 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 21st November 2024 until the 21st May 2025.
It is expected that the byway open to all traffic will be closed at all times.
There is no alternative route for traffic.
Access will remain for residents and businesses.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council due to the likelihood of danger to the public as there is severe flooding along sections which is proving impassable for traffic and danger to walkers, furthermore this is causing the land to slip and give way. There is also severe rutting which has caused damage to vehicles and diesel spillage and there is also deterioration to farm fencing which is allowing livestock to roam freely.
