NOTICE is hereby given that on 08 11 2024 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to amend the North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting and Loading and Provision of Parking) (Various Roads in the District of Scarborough) Order 2007 as set out in Schedule 1 below and to amend The Borough of Scarborough (Prohibition of Waiting and Loading and Provision of Parking) Consolidation Order 2011 as set out in Schedule 2 below

A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 25 11 2024 , together with a map showing the roads affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton and at Whitby Library, Windsor Terrace, Whitby YO21 1EY and also at Scarborough Library, Vernon Road, Town Centre, Scarborough YO11 2NN during normal office hours from 14 11 2024 until 13 05 2026 and also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map
or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. The Council will be considering, in due course, whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of six months from the coming into force of the Order, or if the Order is subsequently varied or modified, from the coming into operation of that variation or modification (whichever is the later), any person may object to the making of an Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation. Any person wishing to object to the indefinite continuation of the Order must state the grounds for their objection, in writing, addressed to Area 3 Whitby Highways Office, Cholmley Way, Whitby, North Yorkshire YO22 4NQ or by email to Area3.Whitby@northyorks.gov.uk or via the website link above. by 24 May 2025. If any person wishes to question the validity of the above Experimental Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may, within six weeks of 08 11 2024 make application to the High Court for that purpose.
