Talbot Road - Temporary Road Closure to Enable Welsh Water to Undertake Civil Engineering Works

What is happening?

NEATH PORT TALBOT COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
CYNGOR BWRDEISTREF SIROL CASTELL-NEDD PORT TALBOT (TALBOT ROAD REAR LANE PORT TALBOT) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from driving on the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.

The Order is necessary to enable Welsh Water to undertake Civil engineering works in the road and for the Highway Section to carry out any subsequent resurfacing works.

This Order will come into force on the 2nd December 2024 and shall continue in force for 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. It is envisaged the works will take 3 days to complete.

SCHEDULE
Lane to rear of Numbers 92 to 120 Talbot Road will be closed from the junction of Abbey Road in an easterly direction to the junction of Theodore Road.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be Theodore Road Rice Street and Abbey Road.

Access for pedestrian and emergency vehicles will be maintained
