Meagles Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS FP0213011 GREAT ECCLESTON, WYRE BOROUGH AND
FP0507003 LITTLE ECCLESTON WITH LARBRECK, FYLDE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 15th November, 2024, remaining in force until the 15th May, 2026, or until the works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over those lengths of Public Footpath, indicated below:-

Public Footpaths FP0507003 Little Eccleston with Larbreck, Fylde, and FP0507003 Great Eccleston, Wyre, from the junction with Meagles Lane at Point A (SD 4148 – 3984) in a generally east north easterly direction for approximately 270 metres to Point B (SD 4177 – 3989). Then continuing in a generally east north easterly direction for approximately 780 metres to Point C (SD 4249 – 4020) at West End.

The temporary closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpaths.

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpaths, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpaths, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works
