What is happening?
(Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.29) Order 202*
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order:
TO IMPLEMENT: ‘No Waiting’ Monday-Friday 8am–6pm on the following length of roads:
Road Description Mount Pleasant Road, Saffron Walden SOUTH SIDE: From the western kerb line of Erskine Place west for approximately 9 metres Mount Pleasant Road, Saffron Walden SOUTH SIDE: From the Eastern kerb line of Erskine Place east for approximately 20 metres Erskine Place, Saffron Walden BOTH SIDES: From its junction with Mount Pleasant Road, south for approximately 12 metres TO REVOKE: ‘School Keep Clear No Stopping Mon-Fri 8am to 6pm on Entrance Markings’ Restrictions.
Road Description Mount Pleasant Road, Saffron Walden SOUTH SIDE: From a point 9 metres west of the western kerb line of Erskine Place, east for approximately 27 metres
This Order will be incorporated into “The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” by substituting map tiles: TL544 37 7173 Revision 3 to Revision 4.

(Ickleton Road, Great Chesterford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ickleton Road, Great Chesterford in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Whiteways for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th December 2024 for 1 night (00:01-04:30), or where stated on a valid permit (NJL3RC86K-45-75-06-212624 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while track fault investigation/repair works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Ickleton Road, Newmarket Road, Walden Road Roundabout West, Walden Road, Walden Road Roundabout West, Connecting Road to Roundabout for B1383 And B184, Cambridge Road, A505 From Pampisford To Duxford, A505 From M11 Junction 10 to Station Road East, Hunts Road, Ickleton Road (C228), Duxford Road (C284), Abbey Street (C284), Frogge Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 14th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Over Hall Lane, Ashdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Over Hall Lane, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 55m south east of its junction with Steventon End for a distance of approximately 35m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd December 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06598892/AP – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Openreach.
No alternative route is available (with access only into Over Hall Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 14th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Knole Lane, Elmdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Knole Lane, Elmdon in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Congreve to its junction with Bridge Green Road a distance of approximately 320m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st November 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA410YR8151578 – Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while blockage clearance works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
An alternative route is available via Congreve, Royston Road, Bridge Green Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Quicksie Hill, Arkesden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Quicksie Hill, Arkesden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 19m south west of its junction with Newland End Lane for a distance of approximately 35m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th November 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06598932/AP – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Hamper Hill Road, Main Street, Clatterbury Lane, Arkesden Road, Wenden Road, High Street, Debden Road, London Road, Walden Road, Walden Road Roundabout, Debden Road, London Road, Pleasant Valley, Debden Road, London Road, Newport Road, Saffron Walden Hill, Cambridge Road, Littlebury Green Hill, London Road, North End, Royston Road and vice versa (with access only into Church Hill).
The Order came into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Rockells Lane, Elmdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rockells Lane, Elmdon in the District of Uttlesford, from both its junction with Boards Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th November 2024 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH00104153-B – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while lining works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Steventon End, Ashdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Steventon End, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 260m north east of its junction with Over Hall Lane for a distance of approximately 45m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th November 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX0140247015 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Renew/Replace Frame & Lid works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Steventon End, Bartlow Road, Ashdon Road, Dean Road, Camps Road and vice versa (with access only into Steventon End, Ashdon Road, Dean Road and Camps Road).
The Order came into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
