What is happening?

(High Street, Head Street, St Nicholas Street, Culver Street East and North Hill Colchester) (Temporary Stopping, Loading and Waiting Restriction) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

Colchester City Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 1st July 2022 Has made the above order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

EFFECTS OF THE ORDER:

To suspend parking and waiting restrictions and to introduce no waiting and no loading on the High Street, St Nicholas Street, Head Street and Culver Street East in the City of Colchester. A temporary taxi rank will also be introduced on North Hill in the City of Colchester for the duration of the event.

    The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 will be temporarily amended in so far as it relates to the waiting, stopping and loading restrictions detailed in this Notice.

    The Order will come into operation at 6pm on 9th November 2024 and will continue in force until 1pm on 10th November 2024.

    (Coach Road, Alresford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Coach Road, Alresford in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 85m south east of its junction with St Andrews Avenue to a point approximately 85m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th December 2024 for 10 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KL7250628-081224 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting and vegetation removal works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

    An alternative route is available via St Andrews Avenue, Wivenhoe Road, and Coach Road.

    The Order will come into effect on 8th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Dedham Road, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Dedham Road, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 145m north east of its junction with Langham Road for a distance of approximately 350m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th November 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD307178289 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

    An alternative route is available via Langham Road, Langham Lane, Park Lane, Wick Road, Birchwood Road, Grove Hill, Colchester Road, High Street, Mill Lane, Dedham Road, Church Road, Upper Street, Lower Street, Stratford Road, Ipswich Road and vice versa.

    The Order will come into effect on 14th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Marsh Crescent, Rowhedge) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Marsh Crescent, Rowhedge in the City of Colchester, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Rowhedge Road for a distance of approximately 190m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd December 2024 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD521011368334 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

    An alternative route is available via High Street, Rowhedge Road and vice versa (with access only into Marsh Crescent, Church Street, Rowhedge Road).

    The Order will come into effect on 14th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Old Heath Road/Fingringhoe Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order (No.28) 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    1. To temporarily close that length of Old Heath Road/Fingringhoe Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from the junction with Wimpole Road to the junction with Rowhedge Road for a distance of approximately 1790m.
    2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads as listed and in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

    (Plummers Road, Fordham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Plummers Road, Fordham in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Farms Farm Road for a distance of approximately 350m in a north easterly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd December 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (E10342729 – Eclipse Power Networks Ltd). The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by Eclipse Power Networks Ltd.

    (Skye Hall Hill, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Skye Hall Hill, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 280m north east of its junction with Dedham Road for a distance of approximately 250m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th December 2024 for 5 days.

    (Tollgate Drive, Stanway and surrounding roads) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close the following roads in Stanway:

    (Abberton Road, Fingringhoe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Abberton Road, Fingringhoe in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 80m south west of its junction with Haye Lane to a point approximately 50m north east of its junction with Haye Lane, for a distance of approximately 130m in a south-westerly then north-easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 31st October 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EJ30020740939 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while supply upgrading works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

    An alternative route is available via Abberton Road, Fingringhoe Road, Mersea Road, Layer Road, Fingringhoe Road, Straight Road, Church Road, and vice versa.

    The Order will come into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Barn Hall Avenue, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Barn Hall Avenue, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 30m south west of its junction with Canwick Grove for a distance of approximately 30m in a south-westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th November 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD310713607457 – Anglian Water). The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

    An alternative route is available via Canwick Avenue, Canwick Grove, and vice versa (with access only into Barn Hall Avenue).

    The Order came into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Frating Abbey Farm Road, Frating) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Frating Abbey Farm Road, Frating in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Great Bentley Road to its junction with Rectory Road for a distance of approximately 1.2km in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th November 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201H283703237 – Essex County Council). The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repairs are undertaken by Essex County Council.

    An alternative route is available via Great Bentley Road, Station Road, Clacton Road, and vice versa.

    The Order came into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Firs Chase, West Mersea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Firs Chase, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Stonehill Way for a distance of approximately 30m in a north-easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th November 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC300649645716 – UK Power Networks). The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

    An alternative route is available via Rosebank Road, Victory Road, and vice versa (with access only into Firs Chase, Coast Road).

    The Order came into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
