What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Langstone Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.161) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 25th November 2024 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
LANGSTONE ROAD

From its junction with St Marys Road Roundabout and Lichfield Road.
From its junction with Lichfield Road and Petworth Road.
From its junction with Petworth Road and Eastern Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate replacement of existing street lighting apparatus along Langstone Road.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 25th November 2024 to 29th November 2024 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between Monday to Friday 09:30 - 14:30. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Eastern Road, Velder Avenue, Rodney Road, Rodney Road Roundabout, Fratton Way, Fratton Way Roundabout, Goldsmith Avenue, Milton Road, St Marys Road Roundabout and St Marys Road Roundabout, Milton Road, Velder Avenue, Eastern Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
