Bridgewater Viaduct, Deansgate Ward - Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic for ATF Scheme Works
What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC140837123: The City of Manchester (Bridgewater Viaduct, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Only Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit High Sided Vehicular Traffic on Bridgewater Viaduct for its full length. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Mancunian Way, Medlock Street, Albion Street, Lower Mosley Street, Windmill Street, Mount Street, Peter Street, Quay Street, New Quay Street, Trinity Way, Dawson Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate the ATF Scheme works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 15th November 2024 to 15th May 2026.
The order shall come into operation on 15th November 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

MCC140873696: The City of Manchester (Cross Keys Street & Chadderton Street, Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Cross Keys Street from Bendix Street to Goulden Street and on Chadderton Street from Goulden Street to Bendix Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Thompson Street, Rochdale Road, Addington Street, Cross Keys Street & Marshall Street, Chadderton Street, Addington Street, Oldham Road, Thompson Street & Thompson Street, Oldham Road, Swan Street, Rochdale Road, Addington Street, Cross Keys Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate development works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 15th November 2024 to 30th June 2025. The order shall come into operation on 15th November 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
