Durham, Temporary Road Closures Due To Water Main Works

What is happening?

The County Council of Durham (Greentree Lane, Taylor Street, Batey Street, Hilda Street, Taylor Street Rear, Percy Avenue/Swan Street, Laburnum Terrace, Swan Street and Elm Terrace, Annfield Plain) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024

The Council on 1/11/2024 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of roads: Greentree Lane a 150m length from the junction with Taylor Street into the end of the cul-de-sac outside No.16 Greentree Lane Tavlor Street a 86m length from the junction with Greentree Lane and the junction with Hilda Street Batev Street a 208m length from the junction with Taylor Street to the junction with Swan Street Hilda Street a 68m length from the junction with Taylor Street and the junction with Batey Street Tavlor Street Rear a 41m length to the rear of No's 1 to 8 Taylor Street Percy Avenue/Swan Street a 55m length to the rear of No's 1 to 17 Percy Avenue and No's 1 to 9 Swan Street Laburnum Terrace a 118m length from the junction with Batey Street to the junction with Swan Street Swan Street a 10m length to the junction of Laburnum Terrace and Elm Terrace and Elm Terrace a 174m length from the junction with Swan Street and the junction with Ash Terrace to enable water main works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of closure, alternative routes, where available, will be signposted on site. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The works are anticipated to be 6 weeks from 8am on Monday 11/11/2024. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
