What is happening?

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, CHORLEY, FYLDE, HYNDBURN, RIBBLE VALLEY,
SOUTH RIBBLE AND WEST LANCASHIRE) (REVOCATION AND
VARIOUS SPEED LIMITS (24-25 NO1)) ORDER 202*

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council propose to make the above Speed Limit Order under Sections 82(2), 83(2) and 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the following:
a) “The Hyndburn Borough Council (Restricted Road)(Altham Lane, Huncoat/Altham) Order 1988” insofar as it relates to a 40mph speed limit on Altham Lane, from its junction with Peter Grime Row to its junction with Burnley Road.
b) “The Borough Of Hyndburn A678 Burnley Road Altham (Restricted Road) (Prohibition Of Waiting) Order 2003”; insofar as it relates to Schedule 1.
2. Introduce a 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) Alexander Close, Chorley, the entire lengths;
b) Covert Close, Scarisbrick, the entire length;
c) Covertside Road, Scarisbrick, the entire length;
d) Duxbury Manor Way, Chorley, the entire length;
e) Fieldlands, Scarisbrick, the entire length;
f) Fleetwood Road (U47382), Medlar with Wesham, the entire length;
g) Haydock Drive, Chorley, the entire length;
h) Hodson's Fold, Chorley, the entire length;
i) Kew House Drive, Scarisbrick, the entire length;
j) Larkhill, Langho, the entire length;
k) Marks Avenue, Farington Moss, Farington, the entire length;
l) Murray Avenue, Farington Moss, Farington, the entire length;
m) Peel Tower Close, Chorley, the entire length;
n) Shireburne Drive, Chorley, the entire length;
o) Thurstan Place, Chorley, the entire length;
p) Moss Lane (U5833), Farington Moss, Leyland, the entire length;
q) Willowbank Close, Farington Moss, Farington, the entire length.
3. Introduce a 40mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) Altham Lane, Altham, from a point 20 metres north east of its junction with the centreline of Peter Grime Row to its junction with Burnley Road;
b) Bury Lane, Withnell, from its junction with A674 Chorley Road to a point 302 metres north of its junction with Calder Road (U5909).
4. Introduce de-restricted road (national speed limit will apply) on the following lengths of road:
a) Moss Lane, Wrightington, from a point 115 metres north west of its junction with the centreline of Crow Orchard Road for a distance of 635 metres in a north westerly direction;
b) Ormskirk Road, Bickerstaffe, from its junction with St Helens Road to a point 245 metres north west of its junction with Liverpool Road (A506);
c) St Helens Road, Ormskirk, from its junction with Ormskirk Road to a point 761 metres north west of its junction with the centreline of Scarth Hill Lane (C117).

A copy of the draft Order and associated documents for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Ribble Valley Borough Council, Council Offices, Church Walk, Clitheroe, BB7 2RA, and at the offices of Fylde Borough Council, Town Hall, Lytham St Annes, FY8 1LW, and at the offices of South Ribble Borough Council, Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland, PR25 1DH, and at the offices of West Lancashire Borough Council, PO Box 16, 52 Derby
Street, Ormskirk, L39 2DF, and at the offices of Chorley Borough Council, Town Hall, Market Street, Chorley, PR7 1DP, and at the offices of Hyndburn Borough Council, Scaitcliffe House, Ormerod Street, Accrington, BB5 0PF, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
