Entwistle Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
ENTWISTLE ROAD, WORSTHOME-WITH-HURSTWOOD BURNLEY, BURNLEY BOROUGH
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Entwistle Road, Worstome-With-Hurstwood, Burnley from outside number 20 Entwistle Road for a distance of 317 metres in a north westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 08:00 hours to 18:00 hours from Monday 25th November 2024 to Tuesday 3rd December 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
The probation will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. Vehicular access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Ormerod Street – Brownside Road – Brunshaw Road – Harry Potts Way – Belvedere Road – Queen Victoria Road – Eastern Avenue – Briercliffe Road – Burnley Road – Todmorden Road – Entwistle Road and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works undertaken by Lancashire County Council
