UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(FOOTPATH THAT/34/1, THATCHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any use of the following footpaths, namely THAT/34/1 in Thatcham, from its junction with Lower Way to its junction with Footpath THAT/17/1. The alternative route is via – Lower Way, Footpath THAT/17/1, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the footpath, namely for Persimmon Homes to erect 91 residential dwellings in close proximity. The proposed Order will come into effect on 8th November 2024 it is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 8th November 2024 and 8th May 2025. The Order shall remain in force for a period of six months or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.
(OXFORD ROAD, NEWBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Oxford Road in Newbury between its junction with A4 Western Avenue/Oxford Road Roundabout and its junction with Herewood Close. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via A4 Western Avenue/Oxford Road Roundabout, Western Avenue,
A339 and A4 Robin Hoods Roundabout, Shaw Road, Shaw Hill, Love Lane, Oxford Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for gas connection works undertaken by SGN. The proposed Order will come into effect on 25th November 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 25th November and 27th November 2024.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
