What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN HITCHIN) ORDER NO.3 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Wymondley Road, Hitchin from its junction with Chiltern Road south eastwards to its junction with Girons Close, a distance of approximately 362m.

An alternative route will be via Wymondley Road, Highbury Road, Whitehill Road, A602 Stevenage Road, Stevenage Road, Arch Road, Hitchin Road and Wymondley Road or via Wymondley Road, Hitchin Road, Arch Road, Stevenage Road, A602 Stevenage Road, Whitehill Road, Hollow Lane and Wymondley Road.

2. that length of Wymondley Close, Hitchin from its junction with Wymondley Road north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. that length of Sorrel Garth, Hitchin from its junction with Wymondley Road north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 November 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN WOOLGROVE ROAD, HITCHIN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Woolgrove Road, Hitchin from a point 50m north west of its junction with High Dane north westwards for a distance of approximately 75m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Woolgrove Road, A505 (Cambridge Road/Nightingale Road), Grove Road and Woolgrove Road. ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 November 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF NO.57 SHEEPCROFT HILL, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated on the east side of No.57 Sheepcroft Hill, Stevenage from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.53 Sheepcroft Hi north eastwards for a distance of approximately 10m ("the Footpath"). An alternative route will be via the footpath situated on the east side of No.57 Sheepcroft Hill, the footway situated on the north east side of Dene Lane and the footway situated on the west and south sides of Sheepcot Hill.

The Order is needed because water main repair works are proposed

to be executed on or near the Footpath.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on

11 November 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the

restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated

by signs on or near the Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WRATTEN ROAD EAST, HITCHIN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Wratten Road East, Hitchin from its junction with Old Charlton Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 10m ("the Road"). There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility cover and frame repair works

are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on

11 November 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the

restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated

by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF STRINGERS LANE, ASTON) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Stringers Lane, Aston from a point in line with the northern boundary of 'The Old Barns' south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 46m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Stringers Lane, Benington Road, Walkern Road, High Street, A602 (Hooks Cross/Broadhall Way), Aston Lane and Stringers Lane.

The Order is needed because water service connection works are

proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on

11 November 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the

restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated

by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NORTON WAY NORTH,

LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Norton Way North, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with the Station Road/ Birds Hill roundabout northwards and north eastwards to its junction with Nevells Road, a distance of approximately 182m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via Station Road, Station Place, Bridge Road, Icknield Way and Norton Way North. The Order is needed because bridge maintenance and inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 November 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall ony take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN STEVENAGE) ORDER NO.7 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Tillers Link, Stevenage from its junction with Leaves Spring north westwards to its junction with Long Leaves, a distance of approximately 84m.

An alternative route will be via Leaves Spring and Long Leaves.

2. that length of Elbow Lane, Stevenage from its junction with Melne Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Oaks Cross, a distance of approximately 334m.

An alternative route will be via Melne Road and Oaks Cross.

3. that length of Oakfields Close, Stevenage from its junction with Oaks Cross south eastwards for a distance of approximately 128m. There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

4. that length of Wychdell, Stevenage from its junction with Broadwater Crescent south eastwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of Homestead Moat, Stevenage from its junction with Six Hills Way north westwards to its junction with Cuttys Lane, a distance of approximately 301m.

An alternative route will be via Six Hills Way, A1155 St Georges Way and Cuttys Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 November 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall ony take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LAW HALL LANE, BENDISH) ORDER NO.2 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of road ("the lengths of Road"):-

1. that length of Law Hall Lane, Bendish from its westernmost junction with C27 (unnamed road) north eastwards for a distance of approximately 326m.

An alternative route will be via C27 (unnamed road), Bendish Lane, Lilley Bottom Road and Law Hall Lane.

2. that length of Law Hall Lane, Bendish from its easternmost junction with C27 (unnamed road) north westwards for a distance of approximately 338m.

An alternative route will be via C27 (unnamed road), Bendish Lane, Lilley Bottom Road and Law Hall Lane. The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility pole is proposed to be executed near the lengths of Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 November 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the lengths of Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ARGYLE WAY, STEVENAGE) ORDER NO.2 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Argyle Way, Stevenage from its junction with A1072 Gunnels Wood Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 15m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A1155 Fairlands Way and Argyle Way.

The Order is needed because water main repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 November 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(A507 CLOTHALL ROAD, BALDOCK, CLOTHALL AND RUSHDEN, A507 BALDOCK ROAD, RUSHDEN, COTTERED AND BUNTINGFORD) (7.5 TONNES WEIGHT LIMIT) ORDER 2023 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council, proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to amend The Hertfordshire (A507 Clothall Road, Baldock, Clothall and Rushden, A507 Baldock Road, Rushden, Cottered and Buntingford) (7.5 Tonnes Weight Limit) Order 2023 so that agricultural vehicles are exempt from the weight limit on that length of the A507 as defined in that Order.
