What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL (BONNY STREET)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 5th November 2024 the Blackpool Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to facilitate the demolition of the footbridge. The effect of the Order will be to:

a) Prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Bonny Street between its junction with Chapel Road to its junction with New Bonny Street.

Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times.

Vehicular access will be maintained wherever possible.

Note: Access will be maintained to allow access for businesses and access to car parks.

All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.

The proposed Order will commence on 13th November 2024 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will take 14 days.
