Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit all traffic along the lengths of road in the Schedule. The Order is required to enable cable installation works on or near the road. The Order will come into operation on 13th January 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be 18 months, however it is estimated that the closure will only be in operation for approximately 26 days from commencement of the works. Vehicular access for affected residents will be provided when essential or in an emergency and when the works are not in operation. Pedestrian access to affected properties will be maintained throughout. Alternative routes will be provided via the adjacent highway network.
