Overstrand Road, Bus Gate Order To Enable Car Park Access
What is happening?
THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (CROMER, C634 OVERSTRAND ROAD) (BUS GATE) ORDER 2024
The Norfolk County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Traffic Management Act 2004 on the 30th October 2024, which comes into operation on the 4th November 2024, the effect of which prohibits any vehicle except a bus, cycle or taxi (including private hire vehicle and hackney carriage) from proceeding along the C634 Overstrand Road from a point 41 metres west of the centreline of its junction with the U10239 Cliff Avenue westwards for a distance of 25 metres. This shortens the previous bus lane by 41 metres to facilitate access for vehicles to enter the private car park on the north side of Overstrand Road. The Norfolk County Council (Cromer, Various Roads) (Traffic Regulation; Consolidation Order 2014 (the "2014 Order") is amended to delete the references to the C634 Overstrand Road at this location.
A copy of the Order, a plan and a copy of the 2014 Order may be viewed online at https://norfolk.citizenspace.com/. Copies are also available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH and at the offices of North Norfolk District Council, Council Offices, Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 9EN during normal office hours. However, in-office staffing levels may have been reduced and viewing online would be recommended. Any person who desires to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from 30th October 2024 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
