London Borough of Southwark - Albany Road, Portland Street - temporary closure of cycle lane
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)
(ALBANY ROAD, PORTLAND STREET)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CYCLE LANE)
1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable development works to be carried out by Compass Infrastructure, it has made an order, the effect of which is to prohibit cyclists from entering part of the above named road.
2. Whilst the works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs/road markings are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to enter, proceed, stop, wait, load or unload at any time in the (a) westbound cycle lane on Albany Road between Wells Way and Portland Street (b) southbound cycle lane on Portland Street at the junction with Albany Road.
3. The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
4. The works will be in operation on the following dates: (a) 4th November to 10th November 2024 (b) 16th November to 19th November 2024.
