Church Street, Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Installation Works
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER - CHURCH STREET, BRIGHTON
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 29 October 2024 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which has the following effect:-The following will be done in phases, and will only be in force as and when signed
a) The temporary closure of Church Street from the junction with Spring Gardens to the exit of the NCP carpark.
b) During this phase it will be necessary to suspend the one-way order on Church Street between the work site and Regent Street.
c) The temporary closure of Church Street from the eastern kerb line of the junction with Spring Gardens, to Spring Gardens central line.
d) The temporary northbound closure of Spring Gardens, for its entire length.
e) During this phase it will be necessary to suspend the one-way order on Church Street between the work site and Regent Street.
f) The temporary closure of Church Street from the central line of Spring Gardens to the western kerb line of the Spring Gardens junction.
g) The temporary southbound closure of Spring Gardens for its entire length.
h) The temporary closure of Portland Street at its junction with Church Street.
i) The temporary suspension of the Bus, taxi and cycles restriction on North Street, between its junction with Queens Road to t's junction with Windsor Street.
j) During this phase, it will be necessary to suspend the one-way orders to make the following roads two-way to maintain access: Windsor Street and Portland Street.
k) The temporary closure of Church Street, from the junction with Spring Gardens to the junction with Queens Road.
l) The temporary closure of Windsor Street at its junction with Church Street.
m) The temporary suspension of the Bus, tax and cycles restriction on North Street, between its junction with Queens Road to its junction with Windsor Street.
n) The temporary closure of the eastbound cycle lane on Church Street, wherever the work site is, from the junction of Kings Street to the junction of Queens Road.
2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to install new High Voltage electricity cables in the carriageway, footway and verge.
3. Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.
4. This Order comes into force on 4 November 2024 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 29 November 2024.
