Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 09 May 2026
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 7 (Dixies foot crossing), Newport in the District of Uttlesford, approximately 70 metres south west from B1383 Cambridge Road for approximately 20 metres (foot crossing over railway line known as Dixies). The alternative route will be via Footpath 7, Byway 2 (Whiteditch Lane), Bury Water Lane, Footpath 22, Gaces Acre, B1383 Cambridge Road and vice versa. The Order came into effect 10 May 2024 and is required for the safety of the public due to insufficient sighting for pedestrians to cross the foot crossing safely and the presence of high speed trains.
(Footpath 14 (Elephant), Newport) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 12 May 2026
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 14 (Elephant), Newport in the District of Uttlesford, from B1383 High Street northeast approximately 99 metres to where it meets the railway. The alternative route will be via: Footpath 14, Footpath 23, Belmont Hill, High Street and vice versa. The Order came into effect on 13 May 2024 and is required for the safety of the public due to insufficient sighting for pedestrians to cross the foot crossing safely and the presence of high speed trains.
(Footpath 32 Henham) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 09 May 2026.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 32, Henham in the District of Uttlesford, approximately 10 metres either side of Elsenham Emergency Hut Network Rail crossing. The alternative route will be via: Footpath 14 Ugley, Bedwell Road, New Road, Old Mead Road and vice versa. The Order came into effect on 10 May 2024 and is required for the safety of the public due to insufficient sighting for pedestrians to cross the foot crossing safely and the presence of high speed trains.
(Byway 3, Saffron Walden) (Temporary Prohibition of Motorised Vehicles and Horse Drawn Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (As amended).
Effect of the order: To temporarily restrict motorised vehicles and horse drawn vehicles on Byway 3, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, for its entire length, from its junction with Byway 47, to its junction with Butlers Lane for approximately 1,646 metres. There will be an exemption for solo motorcycles. The restriction is scheduled to commence on 01 November 2024 to 31 April 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing. The restriction is required to prevent further damage to the surface over the winter months.
The alternative route will be via Byway 47, Hadstock Road, Little Waldon Road, Castle Hill, Ashdon Road, Butlers Lane and vice versa. The Order will come into effect on 01 November 2024 may continue in force for 6 months.
(Byway 3 Saffron Walden) (Seasonal) Prohibition of Motor Vehicles and Horse Drawn Carriages

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) and 3(2) and Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order: To Implement a Seasonal Prohibition of Motor Vehicles and Horse Drawn Carriages (with an Exemption for Solo Motorcycles) for the period: 1st November to 31st March annually.

Byway 3, Saffron Walden, Uttlesford
Description
From its junction with Bridleway 1 and the unnamed lane at Butlers Farm, (Grid Reference TL55974071) generally northwards for approximately 1,650 metres, to its junction with Byway 47 at Mitchells Farm.
There will be a lockable gate at each end of the Byway, with a 1525mm gap to the side. There will be an exemption for solo motorcycles.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Browns End Road, Broxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 455m south east of its junction with Brick End for a distance of approximately 430m in a south easterly direction. (Duck Street, Wendens Ambo) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Duck Street, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Royston Road to its junction with Rookery Lane a distance of approximately 450m.
2. To temporarily introduce a 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction in the above length of road for the duration of above closure only.
"The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
